Never Reheat Coffee that has Equal or Splenda in it

I used to be head of Information System Research & Development for a Fortune 500 company, which was also in Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For.

While working there, I worked on a daily basis with expert metallurgical engineers and other scientists. One of them once told me…

NEVER re-heat coffee which has Equal in it. He told me that those chemicals will break down when heated — in a microwave, for example — and the chemicals will change into something else. Very very unhealthy. Even dangerous.

I don’t know for sure… But I would never take chances. If you’ve added one of those sugar substitutes, and your coffee is cold… Either drink it cold or pour it down the drain!

Eating Blueberries Slashes Colon Cancer Risk by 57 Percent, Animal Study Finds

A compound found in blueberries shows promise of preventing colon cancer, according to a new study. Scientists at Rutgers University and the U.S. Department of Agriculture conducted a joint study on animals, and found that the compound — called pterostilbene — lessened pre-cancerous lesions and inhibited genes involved in inflammation. Researchers presented the study at the American Chemical Society’s annual meeting in March.

“This study underscores the need to include more berries in the diet, especially blueberries,” said study leader Bandaru Reddy, Ph.D., a professor in the chemical biology department at Rutgers. Although the blueberry compound won’t cure colon cancer, it represents a strategy for preventing the disease naturally, said Reddy, who specializes in studying the relationship between nutrition and colon cancer.

The researchers studied 18 rats in which colon cancer had been induced in a manner similar to human colon cancer development. All of the animals were placed on a balanced diet, with half of the animals’ diets supplemented with pterostilbene. After eight weeks, the rats fed pterostilbene had 57 percent fewer pre-cancerous colon lesions compared to the control group. The researchers also noted that pterostilbene inhibited certain genes involved in inflammation, considered a colon cancer risk factor.

Colon cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in the U.S. It has been linked to a high intake of saturated fats and calories common in Western diets. Pterostilbene may be able to reverse this process, possibly by lowering lipids, Reddy said.

Reddy cited a recent study by co-author Agnes Rimando of the Department of Agriculture. Rimando demonstrated that blueberries, particularly their skins, can lower cholesterol when fed to animals.

Some thirty different species of blueberries are native to North America. The berries are rich in anthocyanins, widely recognized for their antioxidant qualities. Blueberries are also a good source of ellagic acid, which blocks metabolic pathways that can lead to cancer.

Potential Cure for HIV Discovered

“In a breakthrough that could potentially lead to a cure for HIV infection, scientists have discovered a way to remove the virus from infected cells, a study released Thursday said.

The scientists engineered an enzyme which attacks the DNA of the HIV virus and cuts it out of the infected cell, according to the study published in Science magazine.

The enzyme is still far from being ready to use as a treatment, the authors warned, but it offers a glimmer of hope for the more than 40 million people infected worldwide.”

The Great Transformation: Fat —> Athletic

My trainer is the BEST trainer in the world (literally), and he is transforming my body!  It’s amazing!   I have lost fat, and continue to….  I have gained muscle…   And I am becoming truly athletic!   It is astonishing!   He is amazing.

In fact, I’m going to get him in on the “Body – health, fitness, nutrition, lifestyle” segments of my show.  The world REALLY NEEDS to hear what he has to teach!

Even though I feel slightly like I was run over by a truck… at the moment…

My trainer is changing my life.  This caterpillar is transforming… Look out!  …a butterfly is on it’s way…

But not just my body physically…  He’s actually changing almost EVERYTHING about my life…  It’s astounding…  very surprising, even to me…   especially to me !

I’m looking at so many things differently…

Without meaning to sound too exaggerated….   It’s really as if he was sent to me for a VERY important purpose…
