Here’s one reaction to my previous item about Vista…
You know that this is total BS and not true. You can reinstall Vista as many times as you want. You can only have it on one machine at a time.
Open Office works great on Vista. Also, I have an older copy of Office that I ‘aquired’ that works great too.
Also, I can play whatever music and video that I want. I have tons of mp3’s on CD that I can use in Vista. In fact there is a Rip CD/DVD button built in to Media player.
In fact, with Media Center built in I can play all these videos and mp3 on my home entertainment system.
I like Linux just as much as the next guy and I am not pro Microsoft or anything but get your facts straight before getting all paranoid.

If you wanna get your facts straight, you might want to read Microsoft’s EULA (End-User License Agreement) for Vista.

They might not be blocking you yet… Because they don’t want to discourage anyone from installing Vista… of course.
But all the pieces will be in place VERY SOON…
Whenever they are ready… and they don’t LIKE something you are doing… They can (and WILL!) simply shut you down…
They will be able to TURN OFF your copy of Windows, your ability to play Videos or Music, etc., etc…. They will be able to TOTALLY disable your computer — remotely — with “the flip of a switch”.
THAT is the most important new “feature” of Vista, and all the latest versions of their software.
Mark my words, many many will be crying a very sad song about Microsoft when they start disabling people’s computers.
MARK MY WORDS.
…and note today’s date. The date I told you.
