We’ve been working very hard this past three weeks — nearly around the clock — on the new website…
Although I’m not a professional web designer… We just wanted it to be simple and functional… Sort of like Google’s main search page… Simple.
But, of course, as we got into it… We kept thinking of more and more new features to add…
So now we have three web sites… one for each show…
We have a “chat live with Bruce” feature… so you can chat with me live, if I happen to be online…
And we have a “viewers map” so that viewers can pin themselves on a map to chart our audience geographically…
We have a facility for you to “syndicate” the show — and easily install a player on your own web site or MySpace page, etc…
We also created an easy feature for you to upload your own “viewer videos“… which we may use on the show…
Subscribe, Podcast, Skypecast, Download, Search, Archives, Suggest a Story, Feedback, Blog, About, Video Trouble, Learn English, Show Transcripts, and links for every major language…
Then we had to create all the same links in Spanish, for Ed’s show…
Wow! :-O
It’s a LOT to put together…
At this point, I think it is about 90% functional… So, now, we’re at the point where we can shift our focus on creating the shows… the content…
We will likely still spend about an hour a day on completing and improving the web site… But, at this point, it is time to devote the vast majority of our attention on creating quality shows. As they say… Content is King.
We are also working on a way to automate the creation of the English language transcripts for The Bruce Wagner Show’s “learn english” program… The state of the art in voice recognition software is still far from perfect… But it will help a great deal in creating the first draft of our transcripts. Then, all we will have to do is go back a correct the few mistakes it made…
This evening we wrote the script for a standard “Welcome to the Show…” video introduction… Three of them, in fact… One for each of the three shows.
Then we had to translate one into Spanish… for Ed’s show… El Show de Edward Gel
So, the plan is… tomorrow morning we will try to tape all three intro videos…
Still not sure if we’re going to try to memorize the scripts… or use a teleprompter… Maybe a combination of both… so it sounds flawless…
The good news is: now we have three cameras in the studio, we have the 40 foot chroma-key screen installed, we have the new video editing workstation, and we have Avid Liquid — the software the pros use to do video editing of major motion pictures…
And, we’re all set to broadcast the daily chat show — Bruce and Ed Live from New York — as a skypcast… and even take calls from callers… all via the new version of Skype…
You should be “seeing” a LOT more of us…. Soon….
